This transmission cooling upgrade gives the M177.2-powered Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63 S a dedicated transmission-oil cooling circuit. Separating transmission cooling from the intercooler coolant circuit helps reduce the amount of heat shared between the transmission and charge-cooling systems during repeated pulls, spirited driving, and other high-load use.
The included bar-and-plate cooler mounts at the front crash bar. A billet fluid-splitter assembly redirects transmission oil through the dedicated cooler instead of relying on the factory shared oil-to-coolant heat exchanger arrangement. This is designed to support more consistent transmission and intake temperatures when the vehicle is driven hard.
